FAQ's About Our Prices and Policies

Q: What are your prices?
A: Puppies are priced individually based on gender, color and coat, but prices start at $500, with a spay/neuter agreement. We do not usually post prices until the puppies are about three weeks old. By that age, we can somewhat determine what their coats will be like. However, coat type cannot be fully determined until the puppies are about 8 weeks old. Before that, we are only making assumptions.

Q: What is your guarantee?
A: Please read our entire Guarantee. It is part of the contract that you sign when you purchase your puppy.

Q: Do you ship your puppies?
A: We prefer not to ship our puppies, so if it is at all possible to pick up your puppy, please try to make arrangements to do so. Airline policy will not allow puppies to be shipped until they are 8 weeks old. Shipping is an additional $350. We do NOT sell or ship internationally. Please be aware that restrictions apply in extreme cold or hot weather and some airports do not accept pets.

Q: Are you willing to deliver to nearby cities?
A: Puppies are available for pick-up in Fayetteville, NC, and Greenville, SC, when they are 7-8 weeks old. We sometimes make deliveries to other cities such as Raleigh, Charlotte, Columbia, Ashville, etc., for a drop-off fee of $75-$125. Please contact us for specific delivery locations and options.

Q: If I send a deposit, what does that guarantee?
A: When we receive your deposit, your name will go on our waiting list. You will have an opportunity to choose a puppy once the puppies reach 3-5 weeks old. The puppies will be chosen in the order in which deposits are received. You must be available to choose your puppy in a timely manner, as others are waiting to make their choice also. If we cannot reach you within a reasonable time, we will have to bypass your name and continue with the next family on the waiting list. If the puppies are already 4-5 weeks old when you put down your deposit, you will need to make your choice when you place the deposit (unless you are waiting for a future litter). We cannot hold more than one puppy for you unless you are committing to purchase more than one puppy. Your deposit can be applied to any litters we have WITHIN ONE YEAR from when we receive your deposit. If you have not chosen a puppy from one of our litters within a one-year period of when we receive your deposit, you will forfeit your deposit. Your deposit is non-refundable. If you have placed a deposit with us, please check our Web site frequently so you can be informed of our current and upcoming litters. We are not always able to reach you as soon as puppies are available.

Q: How do I make a deposit and/or pay for a puppy?
A: A deposit of $100 is required to reserve your puppy. When you pick out your puppy, the balance is due. Our preferred method of payment for deposits is PayPal. If you prefer to pay by check or money order, please contact us for instructions. Final payment is due when you pick out your puppy. If you are buying your puppy with less than two weeks before delivery or pick-up, please contact us for payment arrangements. Please note that an additional 3% is added when making payments by PayPal (the 3% charge is NOT added for the initial $100 deposit).

Q: If I am first on the WAITING LIST, does that mean I get first choice of the puppies in a litter?
A: As breeders, we reserve the option of holding back up to two puppies in a litter if they display qualities of potential breeding stock. When we receive your deposit, your name will go on our waiting list. The puppies will be chosen in the order in which deposits are received. You must be available to choose your puppy in a timely manner, as others are waiting to make their choice also. If we cannot reach you within a reasonable time, we will have to bypass your name and continue with the next family on the waiting list. If the puppies are already 4-5 weeks old when you put down your deposit, and those on the waiting list have already chosen, you will need to make your choice when you place the deposit (unless you are waiting for a future litter). We cannot hold more than one puppy for you unless you are committing to purchase more than one puppy. Your deposit is non-refundable.

Q: What happens if I don't find a puppy I like in this litter?
A:  Your deposit can be applied to any litters we have WITHIN ONE YEAR from when we receive your deposit. If you have not chosen a puppy from one of our litters within a one-year period of when we receive your deposit, you will forfeit your deposit.

Q: Why do you require a spay/neuter contract?
A: Please read the benefits of Spaying/Neutering on the Information page. In addition to these reasons for spaying/neutering, one of our goals is to help in the process of establishing Cockapoos as a breed. This requires a great deal of education and knowledge concerning breeding in general and Cockapoos in particular, including many genetics issues. Any dogs used for breeding must meet the requirements of the Cockapoo standard. Please read more about the Cockapoo Standard on the American Cockapoo Club Web site.

Q: What if I want my dog to have a litter of puppies?
A: Most of the puppies we sell are wonderful pets, but they may not be good for breeding stock. If you are interested in using one of our puppies for breeding, please check out our Guardian Home Opportunity. Becoming a Guardian Home can give you a chance to start out with good breeding stock and determine if breeding is truly for you. NOTE: We do not have all the Guardian Home information on our Web site at this time. Please check back soon.

Q: Will you sell to a breeder?
A: We are willing to sell to a qualified breeder, at our discretion. The puppies we hold back for breeding are priced somewhat higher than puppies sold as pets (with a spay/neuter contract) since we have determined them to be exceptional puppies. Please contact us to find out more about our policy of selling to breeders.
